Make Your Mark in Competitive Gaming
What is eSports?
eSports is a form of competitive gaming far beyond casual play. There are many games (sports) played at this level, usually requiring 3-6 players per team. Teams function similarly to traditional sports in that players come together to form teams for each game and compete against other teams across the nation, or even the world. Each team is coached by a single coach or coaching staff including analysts who break down the games and help players improve their play. At the collegiate level, eSports consists of students from all different majors and backgrounds who are interested in playing competitively or who are interested in building a community around video game competition.

Yes, we offer eSports scholarships for students who meet the qualifications such as proper rank and GPA. Scholarship benefits will vary depending on whether you are a club or varsity team member within our eSports program.
What are my academic expectations while participating in eSports?
In order to continue participating in eSports and maintain the eSports scholarship, a GPA minimum of 2.0 has been put in place. Students are monitored bi-weekly for GPA and will be contacted or met on a case-by-case basis.
Can I practice in my dorm or do I have to be in the room?
At Stevenson, we always want to build the best community and connection with our eSports teams. We usually see our teams build the strongest bonds by playing and interacting in person. However, if you feel more comfortable playing with your setup in your dorm, this is allowed and not against any rules we have here at Stevenson eSports.
Does Stevenson participate in eSports LANs or outside competitions?

Yes, we provide all the necessary equipment ready to go on each station. If you have a personal preference, as many players do, for certain equipment, you are welcome to bring your own equipment to the room to use while you play. We do ask, that once you are done with your gaming session, your equipment is packed up and taken out of the room. Stevenson is not responsible for any personal equipment that is left within the eSports facilities.
Can I eat or drink in the eSports Rooms?
We currently have a strict no-food policy within the eSports Rooms. Clear drinks such as water, sports, or energy drinks, may be permitted. We strive to keep our rooms looking and smelling clean, so we maintain a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to food.
